Switched IP Power Distribution Units increase safety in AV and IT racks

GUDE introduces its latest generation of Power Distribution Units (PDU):  Expert Power Control allows for remote controlling, energy metering and monitoring of up to 12 connected consumers

With the new generation of Expert Power Control devices, GUDE Systems GmbH introduces a series of power distribution systems for professional installations. The switchable LAN sockets are integrated in sturdy metal housings and are suitable for horizontal installation in 19″ racks (1 height unit). The PDUs are available in variants with 4, 8 or 12 slots on the rear panel (IEC C13 or safety socket). This allows connected devices to be switched off and on in the event of a failure. The integrated energy meters offer precise measurement and recording of electricity consumption.

Avoiding complications in IT racks

Two integrated sensor ports for optional sensors allow monitoring of ambient temperature, humidity and air pressure. Programmable thresholds ensure that event-based switching is initiated automatically. System critical conditions such as overtemperature or cable fire will be detected at an early stage. In addition, the user receives warnings when leakage currents occur. Again, preventive maintenance is possible even before it comes to downtimes.

Communication is the key

The configuration and control of Expert Power Control is possible in addition to local access via a web-based control panel. This provides easy and location-independent management and monitoring of the PDU. Secure communication and authentication is ensured thanks to appropriate protocol support. Likewise, the device can be accessed using the Android or iOS app. Moreover, the PDU can be easily integrated into the monitoring solutions of popular software providers.

The new PDU generation of the Cologne-based IT specialist is now available through the manufacturer and distribution partners.
