Köln, 10.01.2017 Switched and metered dual-circuit PDU with threshold alarm GUDE adds retreaded models to its portfolio of power distribution systems, designed in particular to optimize professional IT environments. The two 19-inch devices occupy one height unit in the control cabinet, where they help to increase the energy efficiency and reliability of existing network components. In addition to power distribution and measurement, Expert Power Control 8221-1 and 8226-1 have adequate performance features for monitoring and switching up to twelve connected loads. Furthermore, the dual-circuit PDUs allow event-based switching by defining threshold values for energy, temperature or humidity. They support Telnet, IPv6 addresses, SSL encryption and SNMPv3, thus meeting the latest security standards. The two integrated sensor ports enable real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity in the control cabinet. Thanks to the web interface, mobile device app and compatible network monitoring software (e.g. PRTG, Nagios or PowerIQ), local and remote access are easy to realize. The three key features of Expert Power Control 8221-1 and 8226-1 include: 1. Switching The two PDUs are powered via two IEC C20 power ports and have twelve IEC C13 load outlets on the rear panel. These power ports are each individually switchable via web interface, app, SNMP, serial port or the push button on the unit. To accommodate the increased power density of modern IT landscapes, a maximum switching capacity of up to 7500 W or 32 A can be achieved via the two separate supply lines. 2. Metering The power ports are combined in two independent connection groups of six power ports each. Integrated energy meters allow input-side measurement per connection group (8221-1 and 8226-1) as well as output-side measurement per power port (8226-1). Thanks to precise measurement electronics, typical parameters such as current, voltage, phase angle, power factor, frequency, active, apparent and reactive power can be recorded for reliable consumption measurement and demand analysis. 3. Monitoring Two sensor ports on the Expert Power Control 8221-1 and 8226-1 allow monitoring of ambient temperature and humidity using plug-and-play capable sensors. Real-time monitoring and premature overload and threshold alarms help prevent system critical conditions and downtime.
