New intelligent IP power distributor in compact housing

With the Expert Power Control 1141, the Cologne-based manufacturer presents its latest power distribution system for professional users: the switchable power strip is integrated into a sturdy metal housing and, thanks to its compact housing size, is suitable for space-saving installation in any IT and AV (audio/video) installations. Behind displays, TV screens, under table tops or in narrow media furniture, the Expert Power Control 1141 can be put into operation with just a few minutes of mounting time. The PDU, developed and manufactured in Germany, has four IEC C13 connections on the front and therefore allows switching, monitoring and energy measurement of up to four connected consumers.

Avoid complications in the IT or AV installation

The extensive switching functionality of the device enables the connected end devices to be switched on or off at any time thanks to protected remote access. Particularly in the event of faults, a remote reboot initiated via the Expert Power Control 1141 often leads to the root cause of the operating problem being solved. Thanks to the integrated monitoring function using so-called “watchdogs”, this can also be done fully automatically without user intervention.

The sensor connection on the front of the device allows the connection of ready-to-use additional sensors (plug-and-play). This allows the ambient temperature, humidity and air pressure to be measured and monitored on site with little effort. Programmable threshold values ensure that switching operations are initiated automatically in the event of system-critical conditions such as overheating or excessive humidity. The user is informed by corresponding warning messages in real time.

More sustainability with intelligent power management

The Expert Power Control 1141 has two integrated energy meters. The measurement of a variety of electrical parameters enables the user to identify and exploit potential energy savings in the infrastructure. In addition, programmable time schedules allow end devices to be switched off collectively to prevent unnecessary power consumption. The standby mode of AV and IT devices is an often underestimated power guzzler. Simply switching these devices off at night can save a considerable amount of electricity and therefore also CO2 emissions.

The IP power strip can be configured and controlled via a web-based control center in addition to local access. This offers simple and location-independent management and monitoring of the PDU. Secure communication and authentication is guaranteed thanks to appropriate protocol support. In addition, the PDU can be easily integrated into a large number of control solutions from well-known providers of AV media control systems and IT monitoring solutions by available cost-free drivers.
