Switching and measuring PDU saves height unit in racks

With Expert Power Control 8316, GUDE presents its latest power distribution system for professional installations. The functionality implemented by the Cologne-based IT specialist is a response to the increased requirements in terms of energy efficiency and power density, such as those found in data centers:

• Up to 8 consumers can be connected
• All connected devices can be switched individually, their consumption is measured individually (outlet-metered)
• Event-controlled switching operations help to avoid system-critical states: When defined limits of the sensor or current measurement are exceeded, connected consumers can be switched on or off
• Precise measurement electronics allow reliable consumption measurement of typical parameters such as energy, current and voltage
• Easy-to-implement environmental monitoring through connectable temperature/humidity sensors

In addition to energy distribution and measurement, the Expert Power Control 8316 has adequate performance features for monitoring and switching up to eight connected loads. Furthermore, the almost 70 cm long power distribution strip allows event-based switching, in which threshold values for energy, temperature or humidity are defined. The device supports Telnet, IPv6 addresses, SSL encryption and SNMPv3 and thus meets the latest security standards. The two integrated sensor ports enable real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity in the IT installation. Thanks to the web interface and compatible network monitoring software (e.g. PRTG, Nagios or PowerIQ), local and remote access is easy to realize. The device is available in two variants with either eight grounding contact connections or eight IEC C13 connections.
