Köln, 28.01.2021 GUDE introduces new Power Distribution Units (PDU) that increase operational reliability through programmable switching delay With the „Expert Power Sequencer“ GUDE Systems GmbH presents a series of power distribution systems for professional installations. The switchable power outlets are integrated into sturdy metal housings and are suitable for horizontal installation in 19-inch cabinets (1 height unit). They have 6 IEC C13 load outlets or 6 load outlets with safety socket on the front. Connected devices can be switched on sequentially and off in reverse order by an automatic switching routine. Pressing the switch on the front of the device triggers a 15-second switching sequence, which switches the individual sockets one after the other with a delay of 3 seconds each. These delay intervals between the switching operations can be increased individually to up to 60 seconds if required. The Sequencer is also available in variants with integrated overvoltage protection (type 3) and mains filter. The overvoltage protection prevents defects on the device and on connected consumers, while the mains filter minimizes interference noise on connected loudspeakers or amplifiers. Benefits for users The voltage peaks that typically occur due to high inrush currents when several loads are switched on simultaneously are avoided with the „Expert Power Sequencer 8112“. Consequently, possible tripping of the upstream fuse in the supply line is prevented. In turn, when switching off sequentially, sudden abrupt changes in current in the supply line are prevented from causing faults in the circuit. The power strip is used, for example, in audio/video installations with a power amplifier. The audio amplifier is connected to the last load output. The PDU now ensures that the amplifier is switched on last after the other components. When switching off in reverse order, it is switched on first, before the other components. The otherwise occurring banging noises, which can also damage loudspeakers and amplifiers, are avoided. The user can connect an external pushbutton to the jack connector on the front to trigger the switching sequence from outside the 19-inch cabinet. Features at a glance 6 load outputs switchable by switch on the device or by external pushbutton in a controlled switching sequence Switching off connected loads with a delay of 3s between adjacent outputs Time interval for each load output individually adjustable (up to 60s) Current peaks during simultaneous switching operations and tripping of upstream fuses are prevented Integrated overvoltage protection type 3 (according to EN61643-1) prevents damage to the device and connected loads Jack connector allows connection of external switches and enables remote control of the switching routine Integrated mains filter prevents interference currents and eliminates loss of signal quality for connected devices such as speakers, amplifiers and beamers Low own consumption 4 variants of Expert Power Sequencer 8112 8112-1 6x IEC C13 8112-2 6x IEC C13 with overvoltage protection and mains filter 8112-3 6x safety socket type F (CEE 7/3) 8112-4 6x safety socket type F (CEE 7/3) with overvoltage protection and mains filter Locations AV environments with audio components such as in conference rooms, theaters and small meeting rooms, installations for displays and LED walls, AV installations in the smart home sector with amplifiers, speakers and beamers Mounting Network cabinets 19 inch, 1 height unit Dimensions (LxHxD without mounting ears) 8112-1, 8112-3: 43.9 x 4.4 x 6.2 cm 8112-2, 8112-4: 43.9 x 4.4 x 11.2 cm (without mounting ears) Accessories Jack plug adapter, table/wall mount, IEC extension cable Availability Immediately available from the manufacturer and distributors About GUDE GUDE has been a manufacturer of innovative AV and IT equipment for over 30 years.
